The process includes systematic reviews, meta-analyses, clinical practice guidelines and methodology research.

Student researchers will typically engage with knowledge syntheses by:
- developing a literature review or scoping review for their capstone project or dissertation,
- using critical appraisal frameworks, eg. PICOT
- consulting existing literature reviews, e.g. within dissertations or research articles,
- finding systematic reviews developed on clinical topics through credible agencies,
- choosing a research methodology for their projects.
