"Geospatial technology refers to all of the technology used to acquire, manipulate, and store geographic information".  Caitlin Dempsey. What is the Difference between GIS and Geospatial?

Examples of this technology are: GIS (the layering of geographic information with software) and  Remote Sensing (capturing of aerial images ). Geospatial is becoming more popular as a broad category that encompasses these and other technologies (eg. GPS).
