Legal Resources Across the Disciplines

Citing the Law

Laws, judicial opinions, statutes, cases, codes and so forth have their own formal method of citation, citation norms or distinct statute citation formatting.

  • These citation rules must be followed, whichever citation style eg. APA Style, is being used for the rest of a Reference List.

Citing Secondary sources such as articles, books, and websites follow the same rules as any discipline.  Consult the library APA Guide for resources to help you learn how to cite your research correctly.
