As you advance in your studies, understanding and utilizing Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) is essential. These guidelines provide evidence-based recommendations for patient care, ensuring that you are equipped with the best practices in the field.

Finding Clinical Practice Guidelines in ProQuest Central and CINAHL
• In the search bar, enter terms like “clinical practice guidelines” along with your specific area of interest (e.g., “diabetes management”).
• Use the filters to narrow your results by publication type, selecting “Clinical Practice Guideline” if available. This will help you focus on the most relevant resources.

Free Online Resources for Clinical Practice Guidelines
In addition to our library databases, there are several reputable websites where you can find clinical practice guidelines for free:

• National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC): Although this resource has been archived, many guidelines are still accessible through the AHRQ (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality) website.
• World Health Organization (WHO): The WHO provides global guidelines on various health topics
• Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): The CDC offers guidelines for various conditions and public health recommendations that are valuable for nursing practice.
• Professional Organizations: Many nursing and medical associations (e.g., American Nurses Association, American Diabetes Association) publish guidelines on their websites, providing evidence-based recommendations tailored to specific fields.
